Democracy is a popular Locke St gathering spot to meet up with friends and hang out with family! High ceilings, bright open space, and friendly staff creates a warm welcome for regulars and newcomers!
Who doesn’t like to write on the wall? Kids (and adults) create art and post daily words of wisdom on the chalkboard walls.
Democracy opens early, 6:30am Monday-Friday, 7am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday! Enjoying their gourmet coffees and organic teas makes a perfect start for the day!

Newcomers may be dismayed that Democracy doesn’t offer wifi. Customers are encouraged to engage with each other, while enjoying great coffee and food!

Democracy is proudly vegetarian and vegan friendly! More people today are choosing a plant based diet, and Democracy’s delicious food makes that easy to do!
Democracy’s menu proves vegetarian and vegan cooking/baking is creative and amazing! Customers rave about the Mushroom Calzone with BBQ Sauce, Nachos Supreme, Fries, and Taco Salad. The Quinoa Avocado Salad is a favorite. Democracy has a “feature menu” with frequent new surprises!
Check out the bakery for an awesome treat with your coffee. Maple scones make breakfast special! Democracy has a selection of craft beers if you’re not in the mood for caffeine!

Democracy is an occasional neighborhood entertainment venue, hosting evenings of music and “open mic” nights.
