Artist Of The Week: Avery Raquel

Avery Raquel is an Ontario-based singer/songwriter with catchy melodies, compelling lyrics, and a real sense of musicality. She is strongly influenced by Jazz and has a sound that infuses mainstream soul and R&B to create what she calls ‘Contemporary Soul’. Although the artist is only 17 years old, she has a significant amount of experience in the music industry and has accumulated a long list of accomplishments. Her latest album “My Heart Away” was released in April 2018 and debuted at #11 on the Canadian iTunes Top 200 RnB/Soul Chart. The first single released off of the album, ‘Come Right Back To You’, debuted on the iTunes Canada Top 200 RnB/Soul song chart at #23.

As a performer,  Avery has taken the stage across North America, including some famous New York City clubs such as Birdland Jazz club, Metropolitan Room and Don’t Tell Mama Cabaret, as well as top Canadian venues like Koerner Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, The St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, The Jazz Bistro, Lula Lounge, and Hugh’s Room. She has shared the stage with award winning artists such as David Clayton Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears), Matt Dusk, Holly Cole, June Garber, and Molly Johnson.
