Hamilton Loves Hambrgr

Chef Inspired Hamburgers!

Hamburger fans didn’t know it at the time, but they were in for an unexpected treat! Hamilton’s renaissance and the flourishing innovative local food scene was attracting famous chefs from Toronto and beyond to our city.

Nationally celebrated Canadian chef Michael Cipollo and his family relocated to Hamilton in 2015 to open their first Hambrgr at 49 King William Street!

After a few months on King William St, the word got out and Hambrgr took off.  Since then the Cipollos have expanded next door to open Fsh & Chp, and to 207 Ottawa St N for a second Hambrgr location.

BYOB at Hambrgr

You don’t have to bring your own beer, Hambrgr has a full bar and a wide selection of excellent craft brews. BYOB translates to “build your own burger”, at Hambrgr, and the choices are awesome! The build starts by selecting your patty (meat or plant based) then adding your choice of cheese, other meats, toppings of veggies, onions, peppers, garlic mushrooms, special Hambrgr sauces, and condiments. You’ll have to open wide, it’s tall!

You can skip the build, and opt, instead, to order one of the 14 burger and 4 chicken combinations from the menu.  Hambrgr offers platters to share (“buttermilk onion rings” is a favorite), fries, poutine, and salads with add-ons.

Food to Savor!

Hambrgr sources their beef and chicken locally and promises hormone and antibiotic free meat. Being a little competitive, they recently held a “smash off” contest between their two locations, Downtown and Crown Point. Four weeks with a new burger creation each week to pick the winner!  They are always working on upping the hamburger bliss!

Hambrgr has been noticed beyond Hamilton!  In May 2017, Foodnetwork Canada rated Hambrgr one of the 10 best hamburger joints in all of Canada!
