Capitol is a Hamilton-based Indie Rock band that hopes to add their nostalgia infused shoegaze sound into the ever-growing Dream Pop landscape. Hot off of the release of their debut full-length “Dream Noise”, Capitol was added to the Hamilton stop of the Exclaim! Class of 2020 concert series which is meant to showcase the most promising Indie acts in the area as determined by Exclaim! Magazine.

Drawing obvious influence from bands like The Smiths, Slowdive, The Clash and Joy Division the sound of Capitol is one that is very familiar, with a careful selection of synths, melancholy vocals and reverb-soaked guitars the band dials in the Shoegaze vibe perfectly. It’s careful song-writing that carves a path for Capitol, allowing them to draw in fans of the genre without feeing stale or derivative. Most importantly Capitol delivers an energetic, polished and professional live set that is sure to secure them a successful 2020.

Stay up to date with Capitol on all of their social media, and check out their latest record wherever you find your music, stand out tracks for me are “Diving Bell” and “I’ve Never Been to Paris”.
