Since parting ways with the BNL in 2009 (after 20 years) Steven Page has established himself as a celebrated solo artist, with his performances and recordings. BNL fans were very excited to see the “Reunion” performance (with Steven Page and the BNL) at the 2018 Junos for the Barenaked Ladies induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame! Reports afterwards say that playing together again was fun, but no permanent reunion is planned for now.
Page is promoting his recent album Discipline: Heal Thyself Pt. ll and the single “White Noise”. He’s taken up his guitar in response to the rise of events like Charlottesville in the US and worldwide.
Steven Page explains his album motivations in his own words, ““I grew up in a household where social justice was a fundamental value, and I always believed that it was a fundamental Canadian value as well as a central Jewish one,” says Page. “I’ve watched how the term has been twisted and perverted by the Right over the last several years in an effort to diminish the voices of reason.”
