The Art Gallery of Hamilton.
The Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH), located at 123 King St W, anchors Hamilton’s art infrastructure right in the heart of the city. AGH is a public art pioneer as one of the oldest public art galleries in Canada.
Come inside AGH to see the welcoming open gallery spaces and the strong collections of modern Canadian art. Gallery Level 1 has 6 current exhibits, one a photographic exhibit called ” The Artist’s Studio”, a rare look into artist creative workspaces. Gallery Level 2 has changing exhibits of classic paintings, drawings and sculpture, and a permanent exhibit named “Kim Adams:Bruegel-Bosch Bus”, a visitor favorite!
AGH and the Community!
AGH actively reaches out to the local community, offering First Friday free gallery tours, family events, arts classes for kids, teens and adults. Community members rent AGH’s beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for local conferences and personal occasions like weddings.
AGH partners with and supports Hamilton festivals and events. During Supercrawl, AGH hosted the “Artisan Pop-Up Market” at the AGH Annex (118 James St N). AGH is co-sponsoring the AGH BMO World Film Festival in October and presenting September pre-festival events like “Film Trivia Night” and “Trailers & Teasers.”
