Stop by Centre[3] at 173 James St N! You’ll find an inspiring gallery with new exhibits opening monthly. Canadian Art highlighted “Signs of Light” by Natalie Hunter and Neil Frederick Sharpe, a “must see” in Canada for the week of April 12-18. You can see it now at Centre[3] until May 1st.

Centre[3] is an artist-run non-profit celebrating 14 years!

Centre[3] offers workshops/classes, educational programming partnerships, and their state of the art Print Studio and Media Studio to the Hamilton community.

Community Workshops and Studio Rentals!

Check the calendar of community workshops and classes on the Centre[3] website to sign up. Hands-on workshops include a popular, monthly t-shirt screen printing class.

Centre[3] rents the Print Studio and Media Studio to community members.

Arts Education Mission!

Centre[3] partners with Hamilton organizations to bring arts education into the community.

One collaboration is called the NuSteel alternative arts education program. Centre[3] and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board offer this program to interested students. It’s project-based arts at Centre[3] coordinated with school academic subjects.

Another Centre[3] collaboration with Hamilton schools, grades 3-12, is called SSAS (Schools in the Studio, Artists in the Schools). Centre[3] takes printmaking to the students’ schoolroom. Other times, the students come to Centre[3] to experience 2 hours in the studio! Centre[3] coordinates with educators to craft a curriculum based art program.

Project ZE is a recent school/arts collaboration to promote safer schools for LGBTQ students, open communication platforms and alliances among all students through the arts.

Sitelines is a three year Centre[3] project providing free art-based workshops and classes to people who have experienced addiction and/or mental health issues. Sitelines is funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation.
