A Special Creative Community!
Local artists and artisans join together in this juried community marketplace! Makers’ Market celebrates a 10 year anniversary! Makers’ Market started as a community outreach program of Christ’s Church Cathedral. The Market supports smaller scale artists as an integral part of the James St N Arts District Neighborhood!
When and Where are the Markets?
Makers’ Markets are scheduled from May through September in association with Hamilton Arts Week and James St N ArtCrawl events. These Makers’ Markets are both outside on James St and indoors in the beautiful Christ’s Church Cathedral space.
The popular Makers’ Market Annual Holiday Market is on Friday December 1st and Saturday December 2nd this year in the Cathedral space.
You’ll meet many Makers’ members participating in Pop Ups around Hamilton at community events like Hamilton Flea at Dundurn Castle, McMaster Innovation Craftadian, Cotton Factory Spring Market, and local farmers markets!
Every Makers’ Market is a celebration of creativity accompanied by delicious food and live music!
What will you Discover at the Makers’ Market?
At a Makers’ event there are often 70+ artists presenting. Some Makers like Prouse Pottery & Soap Co. have gone on to open their own shop. Many Makers continue to create in their home studios and workshops.
Shopping a Makers’ Market is inspiring and fun! You can talk to artists about their process and techniques for tips you could use yourself! You’ll discover beautiful paintings and textiles, original prints, and unique decor accessories for your home and office.
Colorful handcrafted scarves, one of a kind earrings and necklaces, tees, toys, terrariums, skin care products, and leather accessories, all make great gifts for friends and family!
